Piledriver is Bulldozer equal to 10%

. .

+ 10% = Bulldozer Piledriver Zambezi processors from AMD, the new architecture Bulldozer, arrive in a week, on 12 October 2011. And next year, somewhere in the same period, the revision comes to Piledriver. This performance should rise 10% on the same frequency, and include new sets of instructions.

Namely FMA3 (Fast Memory Access 3) and Converged BMI (Bit Manipulation Instructions). Besides them, the memory controller will be improved and the technology will reach TurboCore third generation. Performance differences are not large, and show maturity Bulldozer architecture. But at the end of 2012 AMD will need more to fight with Intel and its Ivy's Bridge 22 nm. So hopefully they can reach high enough frequencies.

Piledriver will be compatible with current chipsets and motherboards used bulldozer, requiring only a simple BIOS update to be recognized. And octa-core will be the world's desktop Vishera.
